Setting goals
Goal Setting
We talked about procrastiation last week and I thought I would add more to the topic by discussing goals. Once you overcome your procrastination issues you will want to make goals for yourself. When you are ready to set goals, take out a piece of paper and a pen and start jotting down your thoughts and goals. Once it's written you have a better chance of accomplishing your goals. Get a journal and keep track of both your short term and long term goals. Visualize your goals.
Here are some tips to reaching your goals:
1. Be specific on what your goal is. Clearly define your goal.
2. Ask yourself these questions: Why is your goal important to you? How will you accomplish this goal? Be clear on HOW? Set up an action plan - steps to reaching your goal.
3. Visualize - If you can't see your goal - you can't accomplish it. If you want a new job then imagine yourself at that job, sitting at your desk, etc
4. Set realistic goals -are the goals possible?
5. Make sure you are commited to your dream. If not, those goals will seem impossible and procrastination can set back in.
6. Set a time frame to reach your goals. Make sure the time you set is realistic. Don't put too much pressure on yourself that you become overwhelmed.
Setting goals help put your dreams into action and make your dreams a reality. What's your dream?
