Sean Connery Needed A Drink On First Day As Bond
Sean Connery, the Scottish actor, is said to have been so nervous on his first day of work as Agent 007 James Bond that he could not proceed to shoot without downing a drink first. In fact, a stiff drink was also unable to calm his nerves and director Terence Young had to call an early lunch.
The beans were spilled by the original Bond girl Eunice Gayson recently, when she was talking about Connery’s first day on the sets of the iconic movie ‘Dr. No.’
Isn’t it hard to imagine that it was the same Sean Connery who went on to become such a legendary actor after playing the role of James Bond. It was after a drink, gulped in one go, that Sean was able to return to the sets and do his first shot in single take. The line was the immortal, “The name’s Bond, James Bond.”
It is a pity that the line was said under the influence of alcohol!
