Savory oatmeal ideas for breakfast are a good way to start your morning. These are healthy, nutritious and very easily digestible. If you do not have enough time to prepare elaborate breakfast early in the morning, these oatmeal breakfast ideas are surely going to help you.

 

Cold breakfast oatmeal – This is quick to prepare and very healthy to eat. You will need rolled oats, skimmed milk, cinnamon, packed sweetener of your choice and dried or fresh blueberries. All these ingredients except the blueberries are mixed well in a cereal bowl the previous night so that the ingredients get soaked very well. The bowl needs to be covered with a plastic wrap while storing. Add fresh berries before serving to your guests.

 

Baked apple oatmeal – This is another very quick and savory breakfast idea which makes use of your favorite fruit. You will need chopped apples, butter, milk, egg, baking powder, cinnamon and a pinch of salt for this breakfast recipe. The ingredients are all well combined before baking this in an oven. Just before serving this, you can add some extra brown sugar and fresh cream for added taste.

 

Egg and bacon oatmeal – This can be a slightly heavy breakfast idea for those days when you know you will have a very late lunch. Bacon slices are cooked and crumbled for this oatmeal dish, along with egg whites, whole eggs, uncooked oatmeal, dash salt and salt pepper. Salsa is also used in this meal but if you do not wish to have it you can prepare the dish without it too. This oatmeal recipe is served hot.

 

Banana cream oatmeal – To prepare this breakfast you will need cooking oats, bananas which are sliced into thin coin like shapes, condensed milk and cinnamon. Thick cream is added to add a rich taste to this oatmeal dish. You can add the various banana slices and stir the ingredients well and cook for at least 3 minutes or until you are able to get the thickness of the oatmeal recipe you are looking forward to.

 

Apple pie oatmeal This is a good way to ensure that your kids have oatmeal for breakfast. You will need cooking oats, salt, brown sugar, apple pie and also milk. To add some great taste you can include chopped walnuts and pecans. Banana slices and condensed milk is often added to add a special taste to the pie. You can serve this pie fresh or sprinkle it with fresh cinnamon powder. To give a rich final touch to this oatmeal recipe you can add a splash of hot chocolate sauce or cold milk for added taste.

 

Crock-pot oatmeal – This is for everyone who likes to prepare oatmeal in a crock-pot. You will need cooking oats, chopped apples, raisins, dates, chopped walnuts and almonds. The crock-pot is usually greased before cooking and then cooked over slow heat. You can let it cook for at least 9 hours – start cooking it the previous night and serve it the next morning.
