Rs. 6000/- for a Bowl of Chicken Curry – A Must Taste It Kind or Not?

Well you read it right, this so-called distinctly delicious Chicken Curry, named Anaarkali Butter Chicken is tagged Rs. 6000/- a portion, equivalent to about 85 Euro.

If you feel your eyeballs popping out, that was the same even I experienced when I first read an article on this Chicken Curry in one of the leading magazines. Although the take of the article was purely on the purchasing power of an average Indian today, what struck my attention was just the price tag – never in my life I have tasted or ever heard of a Chicken Curry worth Rs. 6000/-.

The concept on the whole sounded much interesting when I realized that the mastermind behind this pricy butter chicken curry was a group of enterprising techies based in Hyderabad. Although the ingredients used in making this chicken anaarkali do not seem to be any special (most of the ingredients involved are those available in the local market itself), the makers of the recipe claim it to be a “secret one” unlike any other butter chicken, which they, in no way intend to publicize. Anyhow, a detailed break-up of the total price charged for a plate of chicken anaarkali is also included in the website www.anaarkali.in, which may or may not assuage your guilt of ordering such a pricy chicken, at least for once!

After reading this blog, if by chance you feel like savouring Anaarkali butter chicken, at least to satiate your curiosity, feel free to bump into www.anaarkali.in to order a plate of butter chicken. Although I have not tried or tasted this curry, it is said that you get the delivery at door step with in two hours of placing an order online and a portion of it seems to be enough to suffice two persons.

I am still wondering what can be the secret that has priced this butter chicken curry so high!
