Rose Does Make Your Food Beautiful

I’m still wonderstruck when I write this blog. If only had I met Nadirs’ earlier, I wouldn’t have wasted those fresh petals of roses I kept throwing away with the bouquets I received!

Mrs. Nadir is my neighbor and I accidentally bumped into her home one day, when she was preparing pancakes. Pancakes!!! They weren’t just pancakes, but Rose Pancakes. I tell you, I ‘m still wonderstruck.

She told me she got the recipe from some magazine. But what surprised me was what that followed – did you know that rose is rich in Vitamins C, A, B1, B2 and K. No, I never did. Also, rose hips are best for treating cold, influenza, diarrhea etc. Certain parts of it can cure bacterial infections, lethargy and helps in digestion. Obviously there was more to it, but as I was trying hard to cover up my surprise, I lost track of them.

But yes, now I realize that rose does make food beautiful.

Lately, I happened to try some of the pancake and cake recipes, just that I added two more exotic ingredients to the list – beautiful rose petals and refreshing rose water! Do try it out.

Yes, truly interesting to learn. People generally associate roses with love and gift so nutrition and flavor don't come to mind.
