Recipes For Children With Food Allergies
Crispy Granola Bar
This is an ideal recipe of snacks, particularly for the children having different types of food allergies. To prepare the bar, you can use substitute ingredient in case your child is allergic for a certain ingredient. Mainly you will require butter, sugar, honey, corn syrup, oats, raisins, other dry fruits and chopped nuts to prepare the normal type of granola bar. However, in case of dairy-product allergy substitute butter with margarine, in case of nuts allergy you can omit this ingredient and you may also cut off the sugar part for the kids having sugar allergy by using original maple syrup. To make the bar, first prepare the syrup mixture by mixing butter, corn syrup and sugar. Next add the oats along with dry fruits and nuts into the syrup. Pour this mixture inside a pan to bake inside the oven. Before serving, you need to cool this completely and cut into small bars.
Crusty Pizza
This lip-smacking pizza is going to be a favorite food for the children having food allergy. To prepare this you will require mashed potatoes, milk, butter, Italian seasoning, garlic salt, Parmesan cheese and preferred toppings. Here also you can use rice milk and margarine to substitute milk and butter in addition to cutting of the Parmesan cheese, for the children having allergy with the dairy products. Now prepare the crust with the dough made from the mashed potatoes, milk, butter, seasoning and salt. Put your preferred toppings and sauces on the crust and allow it to bake inside the oven until it is properly done.
Chocolate Cake
Can you think of making a wheat-free cake? This cake is going to provide the original taste of chocolate cake without adding wheat flour. You will require rice flour, chocolate chips, butter, sugar, egg, vanilla, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and buttermilk or milk. Prepare the cake batter by gradually adding the ingredients like rice flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda to the mixture of butter, sugar, eggs, chocolate syrup and vanilla. Now put the batter inside a greased pan for baking in the oven. You can frost this cake with your choice of frosting. Here also you can substitute the buttermilk with water and butter with margarine. In case of egg allergy, you can simply omit eggs, whereas sugar can be replaced with Whey Low.
