Quince Anos Ideas

Quince Anos – the ceremonial coming of age 15yr birthday is the most important day in the life of any Hispanic girl (next to her wedding day of course). I am going to share some interesting Quince Anos Ideas that will surely make your child feel like a queen.

Quince anos is the most celebrated moment in the life of a latino girl

Invitation Cards:  Generate a buzz across the town by sending out authentic Spanish invitation cards. The invites must reflect the pulse of the Quinceanera you are planning, is it going to be a traditional fare or a fun coming of age party. Printing the invites in Spanish is a good idea, but don’t forget to include an English translation as well. In case your guest list includes non-Latino, its best to include a small write up about what the ceremony signifies. Don’t forget to make the invitation card as colorful in rich yellows, reds and orange as possible.

Venue for Quince Anos: Like any other party selecting the right venue is very important. Though, any place including a banquet hall or a party lawn would do, for getting an authentic Quince Anos feel, a big backyard with lots of open space serves the best. However, don’t forget to respect the preferences of your child. If she wants hers Quinces over a huge Yatch…so be it (in case you can afford it!)

Quince Anos Decorations Ideas: Quince Anos is a joyous occasion, so decorate the venue with lots and lots of bright Latino colors. Having a party theme is a good idea. Base the theme on your country of origin- Mexican, Cuban, or whatever. You can also choose a Cinderella theme or any theme that your child prefers. Once the theme is decided, decorate your venue with lots of personalized balloons, honeycomb tissue bells, balls, streamers, festoons, fountains, etc.

Last but not the least FOOD: We are Latino and we love our food! No Quince Anos is complete without fabulous food being dished out. Mole, pico de gallo, tortillas, bistec, Mexican rice, frijoles, tripas, picadillo, and cabrito are traditionally served at a Quince Anos party; with the Quinceanera cake being the center of attraction for obvious reasons.

Tips: Decide the budget well before planning the party. Allow your child to get as much rest before the event. While dressing her up try to rope in some professional help. Don’t try out any new hair dos or make up to avoid unpleasant surprises. Make sure your child’s dress; tiara, accessories, etc. are all ready way before the party.

And finally don’t forget to relax and enjoy the party with some salsa and fun dancing to the music.

well, it depends entirely upon the kind of theme and the number of guests that you are planning to invite. If it is a big thing then i would suggest at least 2 months in advance to get the party hall, caterers, make up artist for your daughter, etc. in place. Otherwise, probably a fortnight's preparation would do for a small but sweet quince anos :) And about the time you need to get your daughter ready...well, start preparing at least a month ahead for the dress so that you have time for any refittings, hair and skin treatments must be done at least 1 week in advance and the entire do must be tried on once at least 2 days before the event to avoid nasty surprises ... hope this helps :)
