Pregnant? Avoid ‘eating for 2’
Eating for two during pregnancy can be a dangerous and unhealthy habit. A study conducted on 1,300 women demonstrated that excessive weight gain by eating for two can lead to various complications at birth.

The study was conducted by the Chapel Hill School of Medicine of the University of North Carolina. Excessive weight gain during pregnancy can lead to complications at birth such as pre-eclampsia, a set of symptoms that indicate a disorder with the placenta, along with high odds that both mother and child will be obese later in life.
An extra intake of 500 calories on a daily basis can increase the chance of excessive weight gain by 10%. So consult your doctor and fix a healthy diet for yourself.
The study also revealed that women with vegetarian diets in early pregnancy were half as likely to gain an unhealthy amount of weight, but if you are vegetarian, once again you need not fret, just consult your doctor for a suitable diet.
Adversely the consumption of more monounsaturated fat, found in olive oil and nuts, was linked with a lower risk of excessive weight gain.
