Potassium plays a very important role in a human life and it is important that we should be aware of the role of Potassium and other minerals in our life. Let’s get some basic information about potassium.

Potassium plays a very important role in fluid regulation, muscle contraction, and mineral balance, but it’s more important role is in blood-pressure regulation. The US FOOD AND HEALTH ASSOSIATION claims that the edibles containing 350 mg or more of potassium and diets which are a good source of potassium and low in sodium reduce the risk of high blood pressure, strokes and even heart attacks. According to the Institute of Medicine, general American diet contains very less amount of potassium, though potassium is a type of mineral which is so common in various edibles. Here is a list of some good sources of potassium:
