Organic Foods Minimise Allergy Attacks
Organic foods may reduce the incidences of allergy attacks as they have higher amounts of essential nutrients to protect the body. This is true as research has shown that these have higher nutritive content than conventional foods. Another interesting fact is that higher levels of antioxidants present in these natural foods may be able to reduce childhood allergies. This is because they are free from chemical sprays and also adhere to seasonal patterns, and therefore are healthier than usual foods.
Naturally grown food is produced by not using pesticides, insecticides and other chemicals. Importantly, the crop is not subjected to any genetic modifications and adheres to cyclic patterns. The produce has to meet the international or national government standards to be certified as organic food.
According to the US Food Allergy Institute, incidence of peanut allergy among children is very high in that country and may increase in the near future. This is just the case of just one substance; there may be more that trigger allergic reactions in children. The lead reason could be toxins present in the food consumed. Many consumers world over are switching over to foods that have been grown naturally.
A UK study said natural foods do not lead to any allergy attacks when consumed. Any reaction due to the consumption of such foods may be because a few of them are not cultivated locally and are imported from other regions. As the body is not used to such foods it may react. For instance, Kiwi fruit may not be alright with many children in the UK, as the country does not cultivate it on a big scale. But the same fruit when consumed in New Zealand does not show any adverse affects in people there.
Research has suggested that organic foods decrease the incidence of allergic reactions as nutritive value in them is high and this helps to build a stronger immune system. These foods deliver the right amount of minerals and vitamins, antioxidants and fiber required by the body. Fresh seasonal natural fruits contain up to 50% more vitamins, minerals and enzymes.
Therefore, a diet high in organic foods may reduce the chances of allergic reactions and help lead a healthier life.
