Nashville Music City Hot Chicken Festival 2010
Nashville Music City Hot Chicken Festival 2010 is a unique and interesting way of celebrating 4th of July. This is basically to celebrate the annual Nashville culinary tradition known as hot chicken. It seems that finally the hot chicken is getting what it truly deserves, its own state, Nashville. Started about 4 years ago, the event is a blend of music concert, neighborhood party and chicken cook-off. So, brace yourself as the Nashville Music City Hot Chicken Festival 2010 is on Sunday, July 4, from noon – 4 p.m. at East Park on Woodland Street.
Apart from the rocking Nashville music, this absolutely free event will have amateurs cooking contest, southern flare of local restaurants, kid inflatable Jumpys, and the Yazoo brewery beer garden. The cooking contest will be judged by experts such as Lorrie Morgan, Mayor Karl Dean, Chris Ferrell, John Dwyer and Scott Couch. Moreover, if you are lucky enough to land there among the first 500 guest, then you can enjoy free hot chicken samples from The Chicken Shack, Prince’s Hot Chicken Shack, and Bolton’s Spicy Chicken&Fish absolutely free.
Some of the other features of the event includes food garden, where you can buy the delicious hot chicken. Further, you can also take your kids along as there will be kids' games and great music from The Superficials, Shotgun Shooter, blues-jazzers Bradford Electric and the Centennial Hiptet jazz quintet. With free admission, I guess we have got all the good reasons to spend the 4th of July this year at the Nashville Music City Hot Chicken Festival 2010.
