Mother's Day.. one special day to say work hard for the rest of the year.

Happy Mothers DayYou realize your true potential only after you become a MOM. I never knew how much it took to be one. No I am not talking about the labor pain or the sleepless nights. I am talking about the energy needed. The job requires skills like multitasking, money management, time management, people management and all of that with a smile and patient attitude.

And they thought anybody could do it. Well you are the CEO, CFO, COO and what ever other C's there are. You have to also be a good driver, best chef and the cleanest cleaner. A good teacher, a nice companion and the best at playing board games. Not to mention soccer and baseball coach.

Yes you have to be the Miss Know It All ( or at least pretend to be one).

Mother's day reminds the OTHERS that this one PERSON needs a day off, maybe like a paid day off. No chores, No duites, No nothing. The day has to filled with flowers and breakfast in bed. A warm soaking bath and tons of rest. Nice kind words and happy faces. A gift would be nice. Dinner at a fancy restaurant is OH! so good.

Yes being a MOM means lots of work and not many days off, it means having to handle melt downs ( a popsicle in a 90 degree afternoon at the park ) and the usual driving around town in a big vehicle listening to Old Mcdonald.. But it also means those smiles with no teeth, few teeth, loose theeth and then again no teeth. It means being awarded with the title AWESOME every now and then and it means being told Ho Did You Do that.

It also means getting to choose if you are going to eat icecream sundae and M&Ms for breakfast or a big cookie for lunch. Its a tough position but I don't think I would trade it for anyhting else. No mount of money and no amount of paid vacation time is going to take this position away from me.

Being a MOM just completes you in a way MEN will never understand.

Happy Mother's Day to all. Don't forget your Mum-in-law. At least be nice to her on the day dedicated.
