Monica's Weekend Update-Labor Day

30-Aug-2007 by Monica

A few things to consider for Labor Day weekend... The West Indian Day Parade, September 3rd. Stop by the Brooklyn Museum at 2oo Eastern Parkway to sample some of the best caribbean food and crafts. All weekend long you can check out the in US Open Flushing, NY at the Flushing Meadows Corona Park. The weather should be perfect for tennis. The food is better than your standard fare and it's a great complex to explore. TIP: People often leave half way through the matches and will sell you thier tickets for half price! If you want to get out on the water this weekend, take the New York Water Taxi. It's $20 to hop on and off all day; $25 for a 2 day pass. The last stop on the east side is Harry's Beach Bar at 203 Borden Ave. Harry's is a beach bar party along the East River. Totally casual but has good burgers and hot dogs and plenty of sand. You can find schedules at nywatertaxi.com. I'm off to Puerto Rico for the weekend!! See you next week...
