Fresh meat

A meat menu can contain a variety of dishes from different cultures.  Meat can be broadly classified as "red" or "white.” Cows, sheep, goats, and horses is usually considered red, while domestic chicken, and turkey breast meat is typically considered white. If you are planning to serve a meat based menu to your guests but are short of ideas, then read on and learn for yourself...

Meat Curry

This is a popular Indian dish made with meat, lots of onions, tomatoes and green chilies. This is quite a spicy dish so be careful about letting the guests know about the level of heat. Turmeric, coriander and cumin are three spices you will definitely need for this dish so make sure to stock up before hand. Indian curries are mainly eaten with rice but Indian breads will go quite well with them too.

Meat Pie

The ideal meat pie has a base of short crust pastry for softness, a puff pastry lid for crispness, and a tasty filling. Bake the pies in the preheated oven for twelve minutes, decrease the oven temperature to 180°C and bake for a further 20 minutes, or until the pastry is fluffy and golden. Serve the pies right away with creamy mashed potato and steamed green peas and pass some additional tomato sauce separately, if needed.

Meat Stew

Stews are very much like soups except that they are thicker and require longer slower cooking. Stews are loved by most people and you can’t go wrong by featuring a meat stew on a meat menu. Stewing is apt for the least tender cuts of meat that become soft and succulent with the slow moist heat method. This makes it a favorite in inexpensive cooking. Stews may be thickened by using flour or reduction. Cornstarch or arrowroot can also be used as thickening agents.

Meatballs

Meatballs are round patties made from a quantity of ground meat rolled into a small ball along with other ingredients, such as breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, spices, and perhaps eggs. Meatballs are generally prepared and rolled by hand, and are cooked by frying, baking, steaming, or braising in gravy. There are several kinds of meatball recipes using various types of meats and seasonings, including vegetarian and fish alternatives, and many methods of preparation.

Meat Casserole

A meat casserole is a one dish meal and is fairly simple to prepare and cook. Ingredients need to simply be thrown together in one pan or cooking utensil. You can either slow cook it on the stove or bake it in the oven which is how most people make it.

Hope you enjoyed these meat menu ideas. You can even play around with recipes and tastes on your own and create something unique.
