Living only on milk for 3 decades!
This is from a news article that I read in 'Mumbai Mirror' a few days ago.

Parents tired of coaxing their kids to drink milk would find in this Mumbai resident an ideal role model. For, over the last 33 years, Anil Sakpal has not consumed anything else but milk, and has also been featured in the Limca Book of Records, 2008 for his unique dietary preference. The record is classified as ‘Living only on milk for three decades’. Anil had to go through a three-month long observation test when he did not consume anything else but just milk.
Every day, Anil consumes at least five litres of milk, and gulps five glasses at a go when hungry. One might wonder about the affordability of his ‘meal’, but it helps that he works at a milk packing plant. After hearing about his habit, the chairman there awarded him with a daily quota of milk.
Anil could not ingest anything other than milk since childhood. When his parents tried feeding him with rice or rotis, he used to throw up.
Does this unusual habit affect his life? Yes, said Anil, he does face some problems, especially when away from family and home. He said, “I feel awkward whenever I have to ask for so much milk if I stay at any relative’s place. Also, I am facing difficulties in getting married, as people think of my habit as a fetish.”
How healthy is the Milk Man?
Anil is healthy and completely fit as per doctors. But, he does indeed suffer from deficiency of some important minerals, like iron. Nitu Desai, a dietician, said, "Anil is getting a complete food in the form of milk. His requirement for carbohydrates, fats and protein is taken care of. Also he gets enough of calcium, vitamin B 12 and Vitamin D through milk. However, along with five litres of milk every day, he consumes 30 grams of saturated fat. This will increase cholesterol in his body and could create problems in blood circulation. Also, milk lacks iron, protein and all other B-complex. He should gradually try to start eating fruits or atleast dry fruits, to avoid health complications later".
