baking great cakesBaking was my hobby since childhood. However, I could not bake well until I learnt about some simple tipsof making great cakes.

Baking is an art and to make a perfect cake, one needs to take care of small things too. Right from the ingredient to the frosting, cake baking needs perfection.

 

 

 

 

 

In this blog, I will share several minor tips for great cakes with all my readers:

Recipe

  • Select easy cake recipes if you are a beginner.
  • Make sure you understand all the instructions well before trying your hand in cake baking.
  • Choose the recipes which have all the details.

Ingredients:

  • Make sure you have all the ingredients with you in the desired proportion.
  • Use fresh eggs for cake baking.
  • Take quality ingredients to bake a cake or else your cake will not be up to your expectations. Check for expiry dates of nuts and fruit fillings and other packaged products.
  • All the ingredients should be at a room temperature before you start.

Mixing:

  • To avoid lumps in the batter, sieve flour, baking soda, baking powder and spices.
  • Mix butter and sugar till the time the mixture gets light and fluffy.
  • Add nuts, raisins and fruits at the last, so as to avoid color bleeding.
  • Before pouring the batter in the baking pan, spread the butter evenly on to the pan.

Baking:

  • Grease the baking pan evenly with a brush. Dust with flour.
  • Make sure you heat the pan and make it ready for baking temperature.
  • Pan should be kept properly in the oven.
  • Let the pan cool for some time before you take out the baked cake.

Frosting:

  • To easily put the frosting, refrigerate the cake prior.
  • Before applying the heavier level of frosting, apply the lighter level of frosting and refrigerate the cake.
