LeAnn Rimes Says That Weight Loss Criticism Is Bullying
The skinniness of the country singer LeAnn Rimes got a lot of negative publicity and media criticism this year alone. Many noticed Rimes defending her weight mightily on her Twitter account. In fact, most of her tweets were about her eating either this or that! Looks like this 29 year old singer has had enough of it... She lashed back at the negative media, calling them bullies!
In the most recent episode of the Ellen DeGeneres Show, LeAnn Rimes confessed that she feels like a victim of bullies. She of course calls the negative media as bullies. Interestingly, she said that people criticizing her are in fact mocking the people who actually have such eating disorders."I’ve kind of gotten over it when it comes to myself. These are diseases. Using them as name calling, it’s almost bullying. I feel for people are actually going through these diseases. I’m not one of them," she said.
A concerned Ellen DeGeneres asked LeAnn Rimes if she's "not anorexic in any way or bulimic at all." As a reply, she said, "No, I am not but I do feel like the press … they’ve been very irresponsible. Calling a lot of people fat or anorexic or bulimic or whatever it may be, it just seems like bullying now," Rimes continued, "instead of really taking these diseases seriously that a lot of people are going through." "That’s good that you got to clear that up," DeGeneres said.
It is good for LeAnn Rimes that she has a very supportive husband; Eddie Cibrian. He defended her vehemently by saying that his better half works out 'fiendishly' in the gym and that she has a very healthy appetite. Cibrian also said that criticism and rumors going around about his wife's appearance really irritates him. He made a statement on a lighter note by saying, "she eats more than I do sometimes!"
In hindsight, I was also one of the people who called her 'scary skinny'. So, I apologize. If she is as healthy as she states, then it is fantastic!
