Lady Gaga To Sue Over Breast Milk Ice Cream
Lady Gaga – the meat wearing entertainer has been in news for all wrong and right reasons. But this time she is in news over an impending legal battle concerning an ice cream. The ice cream in question is not any regular milk product, but it’s processed using a special kind of milk – breast milk. This controversial breast milk ice cream by Covent Garden Icecreamists is named “Baby Gaga.” Baby Gaga is prepared using donated breast milk, lemon zest, and vanilla pods and is served by a waitress dressed like Lady Gaga.
Some may feel that it is fitting tribute to the Queen of Pop, but the question is, isn’t it too much? The Born This Way star’s counsel have directed harsh criticism towards dessert manufacturers claiming that they have “ridden the coattails of her reputation" to encourage a “provocative and nauseating product.” The popstar accused that the dessert manufacturer is playing it smart to make others believe that she is endorsing the breast milk ice cream. Also, Lady Gaga’s counsel has voiced fear over safety of this ice cream by saying that the product may be “unsafe for human consumption (owing to the risk of it carrying such viruses as hepatitis)”. Lady Gaga have demanded the dessert manufacturer to rebrand product to something else such that it doesn’t sounds “aurally, visually or conceptually similar “ to her name or face legal proceedings.
The Icecream manufacturer Matt O’ Connor retorted back by saying that accusations leveled against him were not true and the whole idea of entangling him in legal fight was “"preposterous and outrageous". O’Connor targeted Lady Gaga by saying that he is ready to tackle her in court. He also voiced his confidence in winning the battle by saying that Lady Gaga’s accusations were simply hilarious, when considered how much she borrowed from “popular culture to create her look and music.” Also, the name baby Gaga has nothing to do with her because Gaga is one of the “first discernible phrases” uttered by any baby. And O’Connor snapped over Lady Gaga’s comments over “tastelessness and safety” by saying that it is high time that the popstar should mend her ways. She should change her ways or perhaps look into her past actions. He was referring to the popstar’s blood-spurting performance during MTV Music Awards or her flesh gown which she wore to an awards function. O’Connor is confident that his application for trademark will meet the approval of concerned authorities.
Now the battle is on between Matt O ‘Connor and Lady Gaga. Let’s keep our fingers crossed to see how this breastmilk icecream faces the ire of health organizations and Lady Gaga.
