KHEER
Ingredients: 2 ltrs milk,250 gms sugar,ilaichi powder half tsp,basmati rice -50gms,almonds soaked in water 7-8 nos, kishmish 10-12 nos.
COOKING METHOD : Take a heavy bottom saucepen , pour all the milk in it and keep for boiling.Once the milk starts boiling put the gas on medium flame&let it boil further for 25 mins till it thickens.Keep stirring the milk inbetween.Soak the rice after washing it for a while in water.The milk should be now one litre after boiling sufficiently. Add the soaked rice to the milk and keep stirring continuously so that the rice doesnt stick at the bottom.
Cut almonds length wise after peeling off the skin. After the rice gets cooked in the milk add sugar & stir again. The milk is thick enough now. Turn off the gas and add kishmish,almonds and mix well in the Kheer. Let the Kheer cool down. Refrigerate it and serve chilled! Yummy Kheer is ready.
