Joint pain eased with fruits and red wine…
We all knew that avocados are one of the most nutritious of all fruits. Super charged with antioxidants, avocados have now proved to ease joint pains and arthritis along with apples and red wine.
Red wine has also been long promoted for its anti-oxidant properties too. That leaves us with the bright red apple. Now you knew this was good for you before too. Apples have a lot of minerals and vitamins to them but the avocado certainly takes the prize home when it comes to being a super food. They are rich in potassium (60% more than bananas). They are also rich in B vitamins, as well as vitamin E and vitamin K.
Other than these 3, fish with fatty acids and omega 3, like salmon and other oily fish also help treat aches and pains in individuals suffering from arthritis. The fatty acids and omega 3 are said to decrease pain killer dependence in the long run for arthritic patients.
The foods that can worsen the condition though are wheat, corn, rye, sugar, caffeine, yeast, dairy products, oranges, grapefruit, lemons and tomatoes. Meats most likely to make such aches worse are bacon, pork, beef and lamb.
Now to top it all, I’m very pleased indeed to add that the 82 patients with osteoarthritis who were studied also reported reduced pain intensity during the six-week period they had weekly reiki sessions. If you want to read up more on reiki, check out my ‘reiki facts’ blog.
