We usually remember sushi when we think about Japanese food but there are lot of other tasty Japanese foods for kids to try.  Beautiful presentaion of Japanese foods makes it more appealing to kids.More over every Japanese food for kids are comes with fresh seasoning and exotic ingredients indigenous to the country.. Sushi rolls 

 

Involve kids in making sushi rolls as it is interesting and easy task. It uses sushi rice, avocado, mayonnaise, crab meat, salt and dried seaweed which is also known as “nori”.  Though it can be easily made by kids, any of the parents should be nearby when they cut and cook the crab. Otherwise, it is simple; all the ingredients have to be combined and rolled with “nori” or dried seaweed.

 

Yakitori 

 

This is the best Japanese food for kids that attracts even the pickiest eater. Chicken pieces are seasoned with soy sauce, garlic, mirin and sugar and grilled. This dish can be made using plain sauce or soy sauce based sauce.

 

Udon

 

Among the Japanese foods for kids this is very mild. Udon is thick white noodle made using wheat flour.This hot noodle soup uses mild flavored broth that is prepared using soy sauce.  Udon is usually topped with toppings like fish cake or tempura and chopped scallions.

 

Tempura

One of the delicious Japanese foods for kids that uses seafood or vegetables. Usually shrimp or prawn is used to make tempura. Vegan version is also popular which uses shitake mushrooms, yam, eggplant and bell peppers.  This fried food serve as a delicious snack else can be used as topping for udon.

 

Green tea ice cream

 

Offering green tea ice cream is the best way to introduce green tea to kids. While serving this ice cream, tell them about the health benefits of green tea.  This dessert would surely be a hit with kids.
