‘Jamie Oliver to take on Los Angeles schools’ went the headlines of most newspaper publications earlier this month. The renowned chef had expressed his intention of moving to Los Angeles in order to initiate the Jamie Oliver's campaign for healthy eating there. The eating habits of children across the United States of America are not considered to be healthy and the increasing incidence of obesity among school going children have given rise to concern.

Jamie Oliver's campaign for healthy eating was formulated with the idea of improving the diet of the school going kids in LA. Oliver had also decided to record his initiatives for promoting healthy eating habits as part of a reality show to be aired on television.  The school authorities in and around Los Angeles, however, do not seem to be flattered by Jamie Oliver's campaign for healthy eating. Most of them have made their displeasure evident and say that they have quite a lot of nutritional experts advising them.  Well, it certainly seems to be a blow for the chef and his plans of making it big in America.

The Unified School district of LA has asked the chef to bestow his attention on other communities and leave them alone for now. While they are appreciative about Jamie Oliver's campaign for healthy eating as well as his concerns, the school district authorities feel that they have adequate measures in place and do not need much guidance as far as Oliver is concerned.

Statistics reveal that the school children residing in Los Angeles are definitely not that unhealthy and the chef’s choice of place has come for much criticism. While the chef is still determined to move to Los Angeles, family in tow,  the slogan ‘Jamie Oliver To Take On Los Angeles Schools’ might just have to be tossed aside for now.
