It Is Time For Peppermint Coffee
Winter is on its way to give us a chill and now it is time for peppermint coffee. For quite a few years, people are more towards selecting their cup of coffee with a special flavor of winter such as peppermint or pumpkin. So, as the cold wind started to blow this winter and we bring out the warm outfits from the closets, this is the time when the peppermint coffee becomes popular than other choices.
The peppermint coffee at Starbucks has two varieties – one is peppermint mocha and the other is peppermint white chocolate mocha. The peppermint mocha offers around 400 calories including 15g fat as it is prepared with a combination of espresso, bittersweet chocolate, milk and peppermint flavor. The topping mostly consist of whipped cream and chocolate curls. The other one is prepared by combining espresso with white chocolate, steamed milk and flavored peppermint syrup, whereas the topping remains same. This delicate version of peppermint coffee offers 540 calories with 19g total fat count.
However, winter is the time to celebrate with friends and family members with a festive mood. Most of the people do not mind to indulge themselves, in a frothy cup of coffee with fabulous peppermint aroma, even if the price is more than double, when you compare with a regular tall cup of coffee. According to the sales statistic of last year, this flavored coffee accounted for almost 10% of all hot beverages sold during the winter festive days. To satisfy the thirst of the health conscious coffee-lovers, this year Starbuck has launched a new version of peppermint coffee, serving only 100 calories. This is quite less amount of calories, compared to the earlier mentioned varieties. Not only Starbucks, other famous coffee chain shops have also introduced peppermint coffee in recent years, which includes Dunkin’ Donuts, Caribou Coffee and Maxwell House.
According to Julie Felss Masino, the global beverage VP of Starbucks, “The consumer has been in this comfort mood for a long time.” Even the executive chef at Dunkin’ Donuts, Stan Frankenthaler, supports this opinion, “We keep growing our offerings for this time of year.”
