Is your cat safe or is your local butcher eyeing it?
The latest news that I came by on the net had me shocked. Cooking meat is a part of most cultures however, can you actually eye your neighbour’s or friend’s cat for food? Have we gone back to the stage of primitive man when all that could be thought of was food?

What am I talking about? Here’s the news that had me shocked. In Guangdong, China over 10,000 domesticated cats are killed for their meat. It is not that the cats are grown for their meat. It could be your pet cat that may end up on some restaurant table as a delicacy of you are not careful. Some of these cats are stolen from homes are put into cages and taken away and your know where they would ultimately end up. The cats are cooked alive, my oh my can’t imagine as to what stage we have reached to satisfy our taste buds. This cruelty against the poor animal has raised much concern in China and activists are leaving no stones unturned to make their resent vocal. Chicken and dog too are popular meat here. A butcher here said supporting the use of cat meat in cooking “Cats have a strong flavor. The animals are likely to continue being used as food, as the Chinese, and the Cantonese in particular, are known for their adventurous taste buds”.
