As per the recent study it has been found that including variety in meals helps to keep illness away.

The researchers found that instead of consuming only some food for their anti inflammatory benefits, it is beneficial for our health to have diversity in foods.

The research was conducted on 44 overweight but healthy people aged between 50-75 years. The subjects were recommended to have foods which help in controlling the low grade body inflammation. The low grade inflammation mostly is responsible for heart disease, obesity and type 2 diabetes.

After some time, it was observed that the diet recommended lowered the bad cholesterol by 33%, blood fats – lipids by 14%, and blood pressure by 8%. The danger point for the blood clots also got slashed by 26%. Besides, the memory and brain functions showed improvement.

As per the scientists, food comprising of whole grains, anti oxidants and important fatty acids when consumed helps in decreasing the chances of Alzheimer’s, heart disease and diabetes.

Also, variety in meals can be done by consuming porridge oats, blueberries and oily fish. These foods are rich source of nutrition and help to keep illness away.

The variety in meals actually increases the impact on inflammation. It may be quite possible that only few foods produce the anti inflammatory effect, including variety in meals however makes that effect stronger and keeps illness away.

Also, this change is more of a lifestyle change than just a diet change. This variety in meals should be followed for life.
