How To Burn Extra Calories During Holiday

We all have a habit of gaining some extra pounds during holidays while relaxing at home, or visiting restaurants more often. These extra pounds leave us with a mental stress of how to lose them. Burning calories seems something impossible without vigorous exercise. But do we really want to strain ourselves in those holiday seasons?

Even if exercise is not possible, squeezing in mini workouts may burn up to 100 calories that has been gained by those holiday cookies and cocktails.

Some simple tips to burn calories

 Yoga

 

Yoga is a gift to our body and mind by easing the stress. Not only it’s a stress buster to our body, it will also fight against fat.

Half an hour of yoga can burn about 100 calories. You can join a yoga class or buy a DVD for doing it in the right way.

Household chores

 

If you are really worried about your increasing waistline, then you should better start doing the household chores by yourself. Vigorous scrubbing, mopping, or vacuuming will burn up to 100 calories in just 25 minutes.

Cleaning house is harder exercise than going to gym. It will not only motivate you for innovative ideas for a sparkling floor, but also will keep a check on your waistline.

Take a lap around the mall

 

Many of us are addicted to a habit of strolling along in a mall while window shopping. If we take a brisk walk rather than strolling, we can have a good chance of burning extra pounds. About 25 minutes of brisk walking can burn up to 100 calories. So, if we spend a few more minutes in the mall, it won’t be any warm.

If you don’t belong to a gym or any yoga class and its cold outside, then mall is the best place for walking.

Its holiday and we would want to deliver gifts and goodie bags to our neighbors. Rather than using any vehicle, we should take a walk. It will also help in shedding those extra pounds.

Multitask

 

Relaxing on your couch can burn around 1 calorie. Stand up and moving around will shed a few more.

Do some squats or push-ups while watching TV in your living room. A 20-25 minute push-ups will shed around 100 calories.

Get your game on

 

 

Have some outdoor games like football or basketball, with your family and friends. This will help you in burning off some calories which you gained during New Year or Christmas party.

All these simple steps will not only help in shedding off your extra pounds, but also will give you some fun.

i do a bit of some of these - chores, walking around the mall, brisk walking in the park...not necessarily to burn 'extra calories'...but yes, all this helps.

I agree, all these work are best to burn calories.Burn extra calories from your body by doing any of the above work you will fell better. It will make u feel fresh and if we do any of the work mentioned above daily or 3-4 days just for half an hour makes us healthy,which will be better for our old age. Always live healthy,eat healthy.
