How To Use Rice Paper Wrappers In Kitchen
- To use the rice paper wrappers first you will require softening the paper. This is the most critical part of using the rice paper. If your rice paper gets too wet, it will not perform properly. To make the rice paper soft, you will require a shallow dish or pie plate and some amount of lukewarm water. Pour the lukewarm water in the dish and lightly dip the rice paper into the water. Take one rice paper at a time to dip into the water. If you use multiple papers together, then none of them can be used.
- Dip the paper for 10-20 seconds and then remove from water to place it on a kitchen towel. The kitchen towel will soak the excess water from the rice paper wrapper and thus it will become ready for use.
- Place this rice paper on a flat surface and then use your favorite choices of vegetables, shrimp, chicken or other meat to make the filling. But, don’t make the filling too big, as the rice paper might tear at the time of rolling.
- Next comes the wrapping step, which is little critical. Press the filling with your finger and then bring the nearest edge on top of the filling. In the next step fold the two open sides of the filling towards the middle portion. Then continue rolling the remaining part of the wrapper till it comes to the end. While wrapping, make sure to do a tight and smart wrap, so that the filling stays firm and nothing comes out of the wrap.
- Now prepare these in your favorite way to fry or steam or boil the wrapped things. You can also serve it cold with a special dipping sauce.
