You can even enjoy these nutrition loaded fruits all round the year, maintaining a well balanced diet all the time.

Glass canning jars are always ideal for such storage purposes. But other than these, metal and plastic airtight containers are as good for storing dry fruits.

Step 1 – Drying fruits
You can dehydrate your fruits directly under the sun, placing them sliced or cubed on screens and trays. Also, you can always go for the food dehydrators, which can speed up your work. It has been found out that sun drying besides taking more time, also robs a lot of nutrients off the fruits.
Step 2 – Storing the fruits
When you are storing dry fruits, always do it in the room temperature, away from direct sunlight and any heat source. Make sure, you store the dry fruits in a tightly sealed jar or container, which doesn’t allow any oxygen and moisture inside. This is because; oxygen will only dry out the fruits further making them rock hard and moisture will only spoil the fruits. The ideal temperature for storing dry fruits is 68 degrees Fahrenheit or below. If not jars or containers, you can always opt for the zipper pouches for storing dry fruits.
Step 3 – Freezing dry fruits
You can even store your dry fruits frozen in an air tight container that can resist the freezer burn.
