How To Store Candies
Kids love candies – taking advantage of their love for these sweet goods moms always try and store
candies at home. Storing candies is easy – you actually don’t need to learn how to store candies. It is just that you have to be careful how you are keeping the candies, so that they stay in an edible condition.
You can even teach your kids the tricks of storing candies. They will love to store their favorite food and will take special initiative to learn how to store candies. Here are some very common methods of storing candies which we normally follow. These are time-tested methods which help to keep candies in a good condition for long periods.
In containers:
• Most often candies are stored in air tight containers.
• These containers are stored in places which are cool and dry because moistness will cause damage to the candies.
• The containers should be of medium size. You shouldn’t store candies in very big containers. When you have a very large size container, you will be putting in as many candies as possible in such a container. As a result there will be many candies stored in a tightened manner just below the container. In such a case, it might happen that the candies get stuck with each other and they get spoilt in the long run.
Store them in refrigerator:
• If you have to store candies for a very long period due to some reason, you can put these airtight containers in the refrigerator.
• You can also transfer the candies in a Ziploc bag individually,
• Once you have put all the candies in the Ziploc bag, you have to make sure that there is no moisture present in the bag.
• Put this Ziploc bag in the fridge.
• Whenever you need the candies you can bring them out and have them after bringing them to room temperature.
Where you should not store candies:
• Candies should never be stored with other food like cakes, biscuits and other food items. If this is done candies will lose their taste and it might also happen that the flavor and aroma of the other food items will get transferred in these candies. Thus, when you are storing candies you should always keep them away from other food stuff.
• Candies should never be kept in the kitchen or anywhere near your fireplace. The heat from the fireplace or the kitchen will cause sugar substances in the candy to melt down and the candy shall lose all its taste.
• Do not leave candies in open saucers or bowls anywhere for too long. Candies will become dry and will lose all their taste and flavor.
