To store bread crumbs in your kitchen for longer, you can follow few steps.
- First, you need to see how the weather of the place is where you live. If you are staying at a place where the weather is very humid then storing process of bread crumbs are different from a region where the weather is dry. In dry weather, storing bread crumbs can be done in the kitchen wardrobe itself. Put the breadcrumbs in a clean container and put it in the kitchen wardrobe where there is not much light and heat. It will stay fresh for quite some time.
- However, if you are staying in a place where the weather is very humid, it is better to store bread crumbs in the refrigerator rather than in the kitchen cupboard. I personally prefer storing bread crumbs in the freezer. It may sound odd but this is the best way to store bread crumbs in your kitchen and keep them fresher for longer.
- Secondly, irrespective of the weather, while storing bread crumbs always store them in a dry container. If the container contains traces of moisture, it will have a reaction with the bread crumbs and thus fungus may be formed. This will spoil the breadcrumbs easily.
- It is also advised to store bread crumbs in airtight containers. If air does not get a chance to react with bread crumbs, then you can keep them fresh for a longer time.
- Last but not the least, never keep used and fresh bread crumbs together. Always store them in separate containers. Storing bread crumbs separately like this helps to keep them fresh.
By following these few easy steps you can store bread crumbs at home for longer and also keep them fresh.
