How to Store Bananas
1. If the bananas are not ripe, place them at room temperature in a closed paper bag.
2. If you want the bananas to ripe quickly place an apple with them inside the bag. It is the ethylene gas released from the apple that causes the fruit to ripen.
3. Once the bananas turn yellow in color you will know that they have ripened. You should now place them in the refrigerator at a temperature of 50F.
4. These bananas should not be stored for over 2 weeks.
5. When you cut them into pieces before eating them, sprinkle them with citrus juice so as to prevent them from browning quickly.
