How to Sneak Vegetables to Your Kids

Kid and VegetablesI have heard most  parents complaining about their kid's distaste for vegetables. Parents have created a bunch of clever ways to sneak vegetables into their childrens' diets without their knowledge. Here are just a few tips.

The sweeter the better! -Most kids show an unending affinity towards sweet foods, so feed them lots of sweet fruits like strawberries. Use fruits in salads, and slowly reduce the quantity of fruits in the salads so that eventually they are mostly made of vegetables. For breakfast, you can also bake some sweet breads or whip up pancakes using fruits like bananas, pears and apples. Try to include pureed fruits in desserts because that may provide some nutritional value to your kids.

Fry them just a little: As most kids love to eat fried foods, you can fry some vegetables in fat free or healthy fat oils to make them fall in love. You can even experiment with various versions of delicious vegetable fried rice.

Hide them in sandwich Spreads:  Various kinds of sandwich spreads can be prepared using available vegetables, as long as you chop them up finely or puree them to hide their true nature. Puree spinach into a pesto dip, or hummus. Experiment!

Add them to soups: Vegetables can be judiciously added to various kinds of traditional soups. Carrots and onions can be added to chicken noodle soup, or you can create cheesy, creamy soups with tons of vegetables.

Include them in sauces: You can easily whip up kid friendly pasta sauces by including whole canned vegetables like tomatoes, onions and carrots.

I hope by trying some of the above mentioned ideas, you find success in sneaking vegetables into your kids plates.
