Serving frozen fruit at home:

The frozen fruits, once thawed can be used in a similar way as the fresh fruits. The ideal condition for serving frozen fruit at home is when the thawed frozen fruits still have a few ice crystals left. The ice crystals make the fruits firm and crunchy which is much more appealing than the fruits which have been completely thawed and have turned mushy.

To thaw the frozen fruits, the entire package can be brought down to room temperature by either warming it in the microwave, or dipping the package in a pan filled with cool water. Make sure to turn the package over time and again to ensure an even thawing on both the sides.  For thawing fruits at room temperature, the ideal time would be 1-2 hours and for warming in a pan of water around 1- ½ hours would be required.

Ice cream: For ice creams, the fruits should be warmed just until there are a few ice crystals left in the fruits. Do not thaw completely as that may turn the fruits mushy which would look very unappealing. Cut the fruits into small pieces and sprinkle over ice creams.

Cakes and pastries: Frozen fruits can be decorated over the icing and can also be added to the cake batter in any homemade cakes. Use fruits such as strawberries, oranges, grapes, apples and some other varieties as a homemade cake or pastry garnish.

Chocolate fruit bites: These delicious after meal treat is great for serving.  Just dip the frozen fruits in chocolate syrup and freeze them back. You can also fix skewers to fruit pieces, dip them and chocolate and freeze them. Serve when the chocolate has completely solidified.

Fruit juices: Serve frozen fruit juices using frozen fruits while they are still cold but have thawed completely and do not have any ice crystals left. You can make off season fruit juices using frozen fruits.

Frozen fruit salad: Allow the frozen fruits to become slightly warm and then toss them together. Use an assortment of frozen fruits like cherries, grapes, mangoes, apples, raspberries etc.  You can also add sweetened whipped cream to the fruits. Serve it cold.
