How To Reward Good Behaviour In Children With Food
Food can be a great reward for children when they display good behavior and you wish them to feel
happy about it. How to reward good behavior in children with food? Using candies, chocolates, ice-creams, burgers and fried munchies might seem to be an easy solution and your kids are also going to love them – but hold on! Such goodies might not be good for the health of your child. If you are rewarding good behavior with food you have to think about healthy foods ONLY. Here are some tips on how you can reward good behavior in children with food.
• Whenever you choose to reward your child with food you need to tell them, that they will taste something really special as their reward – not their usual burgers and pizzas. This way the kids will be mentally prepared and will readily accept what you have to offer. It will be a great suspense for them – so on such an occasion, you can offer them some healthier snacks.
• Suppose your kid is fond of cakes and pastries – you can treat them with healthier muffins like zucchini muffins. Carrot bars instead of their chocolate bars can be good for your kids – they get to
eat a new type of bar. If your kid is fond of muffins with fillings, you can offer them a treat of muffins which have beta carotene which is good for health.
You can reward them by taking them to different places where variety of goodies are served but not the fast food variety. With a change in place and ambience they will love the treatment they are getting and what you have on offer – remember to keep the venue and reward a secret – to keep their interest alive.
• Surprise your kids with a cheese quesadilla. The dish looks like their favorite junk food, but you know that it is actually healthy. You can mix chopped vegetables, along with shrimps and cooked chicken in this dish. Kids love to hold bean and cheese quesadillas which are very sumptuous and exciting. Try to give them their junk goodie feeling by getting them a veggie salsa – thus, in this way you are truly rewarding your kid but with a huge nutritional punch.
• Yogurt pops look fabulous – in fact when I saw them the first time, I thought these to be ice-creams. Low fat yogurt is used in making this yogurt ice cream which is actually a frozen treat with huge nutritional value. This yogurt pop can be made at home also with fruit pulps and juice to make it more sumptuous.
• If you are thinking of rewarding your kids, get them their favorite dip. You will love to see the spark in their eyes. Hummus is a very nutritious dip for kids which are made from pureed chickpeas. It is a great source of vitamins and irons. Your kids can have hummus with vegetables and salt free crackers – this dip is sure to excite them and feel happy and good.
