Planning snacks for kids with allergies are quite tricky because  you have to keep in mind always the issue of food sensitivity in order to avoid health hazard. Kids can be allergic to peanuts, dairy products, gluten and sometimes even toward egg. There are numerous products available such as egg-free waffles to gluten-free pasta. Depending on the need go in for such products. The best bet would be to try to make snacks that suit your kid at home. Let us look at how to prepare snacks for kids with allergies.

  • First have the child diagnosed for the allergic reaction. Once the allergic reaction is diagnosed, the next step involves in sensitizing the child about it. While packing snacks for kids with allergies, ask the child to eat only from the box sent to school. Inform the teachers too.
  • The challenging part is in finding the right recipe. Well, there are various recipes, but you must be able to make it as attractive as possible. Doing this, the child will not be tempted to try other foods in the school. Choose recipes that are made with natural products.

The look is appealing, and fruits are a healthy snack. Another snack is to make fruits a little tender by placing them in an oven. While doing this, avoid fruits such as watermelon. To avoid browning of fruits, sprinkle some lemon juice. Add some herbs or spices before giving it to the kids. A kids’ healthy snack is ready.
  • Make some healthy pizza for kids who are allergic to eggs, soy, fish or nuts. Take some English muffins. Put some tomato sauce on the muffins. Top it with grated cheese, vegetables, pepperoni and olives. Broil the muffins until the cheese melts. Yummy pizzas are ready.  
  • Other snacks can be made from bagels, quesadillas, whole wheat breads, chocolate chips cookies, smoothies made from coconut milk. Snacks for kids with allergies must have a good visual appeal and should taste good too.
