Arranging a Thanksgiving party will not be a big issue, if you know how to mix drinks at Thanksgiving. Primarily there are three items on which the Thanksgiving party is based on and these are roasted turkey, pumpkin pie and special Thanksgiving drinks. Mixing Thanksgiving drinks will not be a difficult job, if you already have some experience in preparing cocktails. The only thing you should be careful about while selecting the drinks is that they should go with the flavor and taste of turkey and pumpkin. Here are few choices of drinks, which can make your Thanksgiving party a sure success.

Pumpkin Cocktails

The pumpkin cocktails are a must for your Thanksgiving party, as they will perfectly match with the flavor of baked pumpkin pie. You can use pumpkin puree or pumpkin pie spice to mix with vodka, Kahlua or Irish Cream. The puree can also be blended with vodka and vanilla ice cream to prepare frozen pumpkin cocktail. The pumpkin flavored martini will be another perfect choice for the thanksgiving party. Prepare the martini with normal ingredients and add a pinch of pumpkin pie spice to get the required flavor.

Turkey Cranberry Cocktails

When there is something related to pumpkin, you should be prepared for the turkey flavor also. The turkey cranberry cocktail will match perfectly with the roasted turkey dressed with cranberry sauce. To prepare this, use 1 ½ part of wild Turkey Bourbon whiskey to mix with 4 parts of cranberry juice. To the mix add ½ part of brandy and 1 teaspoon of lime juice. Other than this, the vodka cranberry will also be an ideal drink for the evening. Mix vodka and cranberry juice in a shaker with ice and then serve by adding a splash seltzer. For garnishing, you can use cranberries or lime wedges.

Light Cocktails

The light cocktails can be ideal for your guests, who are not really alcohol lovers. Take apple cider to simmer by mixing various spices such as cinnamon, cloves, allspice, lemon zest etc. Strain the drink into the glass and top up with dark rum. To spice up the drinks, you can add melted butter to float on the drink. Garnish the drink with a single cinnamon stick for every glass.

Other than the above recipes, you might find other suitable options to go with your menu. If you can make these drinks in advance, then it will be easy to serve. Otherwise, someone has to take sole responsibility to mix and serve the drinks to the guests. In addition to these specialized drinks, you can also keep a supply of premium brand of whiskey and beer, as many of your guests will enjoy these drinks too.
