Chop the chocolate

Microwave is the fastest way to melt chocolate for coating candies. Put the chopped chocolate in a glass container or a large glass measuring cup. Then set the oven at 50 percent power or defrost. Place the container in the microwave and heat it for 45 seconds. Every 15 seconds make sure to stir the mixture, continue stirring till the mixture is even and smooth. Constant stirring makes the chunks to melt smoothly.
Using double boiler is the simple method to melt chocolate for coating candies. Fill water in the lower pan of the double boiler and bring the water to boil. Remove the boiler from heat. Place the chocolate on the top pan and keep it over the lower pan. Now the chocolate would start to melt; stir continuously till chocolate chunks melts. Once the chocolate reaches smooth consistency, transfer the top pan to hot pad. Now start coating your candies.
Place the chocolate in pan and start melting it in a low flame as high flame would burn the chocolate easily. Stir the mixture constantly till the chocolate melts completely.
When you plan to large amount of chocolate, then slow cooker is the ideal option. Keep the slow cooker at a low flame and put the chocolate over it and start to stir. When the chocolate is melted completely, turn off the slow cooker else maintain it at a low flame and start coating the candies. This method is great to melt large amount of chocolate for coating candies.
