How To Make Homemade Coloring For Easter Eggs
Homemade Easter Egg dye is a great alternative to buying chemical dyes. You can control the exact color you want.
So here is how I do it year after year!
You can use many different fruits and vegetables to prepare Easter egg dyes. This table tells which color egg dyes can be prepared using ingredients available at home.

|

Method of preparation:
Mix the dye source with ½ teaspoon of white vinegar. Use more dyes for creating concentrated colors and less for creating pastel shades.
Add enough cold water to the dye mixture, so that all eggs are properly dyed.
Boil the raw eggs in the dye mixture for about 8-10 minutes and ensure that they are thoroughly cooked.
Reduce the heat and simmer the eggs for about another 5-10 minutes.
Once the eggs have attained their desired color, put off the heat and allow the eggs to cool in the colored mixture. Store the eggs in refrigerator.
Points to remember
Simmer the eggs for long time, if you wish to create darker hues, while lighter hues will require less simmering time.
Always use gloves to prevent your hands from getting stained with homemade dyes.
I have tried using homemade dyes for coloring the eggs, and trust me its real fun to get engaged in such a creative activity like this.
