Making children eat fruits and eat yogurt are the two biggest challenges that mothers face quite often. Fortunately, there’s an easy and tasty way of serving your kids the healthy advantages of both – just learn how to make fruit salad with yogurt.

Fruit Salads are the most versatile dish - serve them as appetizers, desserts or anytime snacksFor making fruit salad with yogurt, you need to follow the steps below:

•    Wash the fruits that you want to add into your fruit salad and clean them well. The basic fruits that are an absolutely must are bananas, oranges and apples. However, you can always enhance this basic flavor by adding other fruits like strawberries, blueberries, grapes (red and green), pineapples, apricots, peaches, etc. The additional fruits not just enhance the taste of your fruit salad, but also the entire look and feel of this great dish. They simply brighten the salad up, thereby, making it more appealing to the kids.

•    Once you have decided on the fruits and cleaned them, cut them into smaller bite-sized pieces. Ensure that they are of more or less the same size to get some evenness.

•    Take a mixing bowl and add the apples to it first. Sprinkle some fruit fresh on the apples, so that they do not turn brown. Now, add the remaining fruit pieces to the bowl. Mix well.

•    Sprinkle some of the natural fruit juices (grape or orange juice) in the bowl.

•    Now, add yogurt to the bowl and stir the fruits well, so as to ensure that all the fruits pieces are coated well with the yogurt.

•    Add a dash of few dry fruits, like raisins, cashews, almonds and pistachios to the salad bowl and mix well. The dry fruits not only enhance the goodness of the salad, but also add some crunchiness to your healthy bowl.

•    Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator for some time to set. Serve chilled.

Yogurt, being rich in calcium, not only enhances the nutrient content of the salad, it also gives that creamy, magical effect to your bowl of fruit salad. At the same time, it keeps the salad looking fresh for hours together.

Salads are the most versatile dish. You can serve them as appetizers or as evening snacks. You can also serve salads, especially fruit salad with yogurt as desserts as well. Healthy and low fat, loaded with calcium, yet great in taste, this is one dish that your kids will surely not give a miss.
