Edible PlaydoughHow many times have you caught your kids eating playdough and wondered if it would be possible to make edible playdough? Making edible playdough is possible if your child isn’t allergic to peanuts since peanut butter is a key ingredient in making it.

Playdough is a great toy to keep pre-schoolers engaged and almost all children have gone through the phase of absolutely loving their ‘playdough time’. But it has always been a matter of concern to parents if the child would nibble on the playdough which is not edible. Since making edible playdough (which is nothing but peanut butter candy) is now easy, parents can heave a sigh of relief. Make edible playdough at home with these easy steps:

  • To make edible playdough all that you need are creamy peanut butter, honey/syrup, powdered milk/oats and a small bowl to mix the ingredients. Let me warn you that edible playdough is one sticky mess.
  • It would require about three – four teaspoons of peanut butter per kid to make edible playdough. Scoop the desired amount into the mixing bowl.
  • Add two tablespoons of honey into this and mix well. Now it has already begun to get a little messy.
  • Next, add powdered milk or oats into the mixture. You can put about eight to nine spoons of powdered milk. But if you are using oats, you may need to add less because with oats, the playdough could get hard fast. Playdough would cease to serve its purpose if it is hard.
  • Your playdough is now ready to play with. Watch your child where she’s going with it and sticking it. Also make sure you and your child eat up all the playdough after playing with it.

Edible play dough is a fun toy to entertain your child with since kids love to create. Playdough helps to boost your child’s creativity and improves her dexterity. Since, it is very easy to make edible play dough; children may find the mixing process a fun activity to do.
