You have to make use of your probing skills now and try to know from your kid, why he has chosen that particular salad. You can ask your kid straight away what he feels about the salad and what he likes in the salad. It shall help you in understanding what pleases your kids appetite and what type of foods stimulates him. You can ask your kid what changes he likes in the salad and how or rather when does he feel like eating salad. There are many kid who do not like to have salads at the time their moms suggest them to have, but they prefer to have it some other time. Grocery list – You can ask your kids to prepare the grocery list themselves. You can slowly reinforce their salad eating habits through empowerment. You can sit down with your kids and let them add their own selection of salad toppings in the grocery list. You can also take them along with you, when you are going out to buy basic salad ingredients. You can ask your kids to pick up tomatoes, spinach, lettuce or even cheese – this is surely going to please them and would love to eat items which they have bought.


If after trying all the above steps, you find that your child’s interest in salad is waning down, it means you have to refresh all the selections and start experimenting again. You will notice that as your child grows up, his preferences and choices of salad ingredients are changing also. To keep a track of your kids’ eating habits, you just need to be in constant touch with all the food selections of their choice.
