How to make barbecue sauce

What is a barbecue party without a barbecue sauce? Zilch, right? And what if we tell you how to make a barbecue sauce at home, wouldn’t you just scream with delight? Well, let’s get the emotions under control and get set to create a delicious and economical barbecue sauce, which you can then use for your next barbecue party.

Step 1: First of all, you will need a few ingredients to cook your very own homemade barbecue sauce. You will find most of these ingredients lying around in your kitchen. However, in case some are not available, you can always purchase them from the supermarket. Keep in mind that the present recipe makes for about 2 cups of barbecue sauce. In case you need to increase the quantity, you will have to increase the quantity of ingredients accordingly. The ingredients are: Barbecue Sauce Is easy to make with our help

• 2 Tablespoons of vegetable oil
• 1 onion, finely chopped
• 3 garlic cloves, minced
• 1 1/2 cups ketchup
• 1/2 cup cider vinegar
• 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
• 1/3 cup of sugar
• 1 Tbs. chili powder
• 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper (optional)

Step 2: Warm the oil in a saucepan. After a few moments, add onion, garlic and cook with gentle stirring for about 5 minutes. To this, add ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, chili powder and cayenne. You can regulate the quantity of cayenne to make the sauce more or less hot.

Step 3: Simmer this mixture on reduced heat. Keep it partially covered for about 20 minutes or till the sauce thickens to your choice of consistency.

Now the best thing about a barbecue sauce is that it comes in a variety of flavors, which are way different from the store-bought variety, which is usually thick and sweet. We give below five different barbecue sauce recipes so that you present a different variety at each of your barbecue party throughout and keep your guests guessing:

1) Kansas City Rib Sauce: This is a rich, thick, tomato-based recipe, which is synonymous with the Kansas city style of barbecue.

2) Classic Barbecue Rib Sauce: This recipe is perfect for those who like their barbecue sauce to be rich and thick. This sauce is also rich in flavor because of the use of tomato sauce and tomato paste, instead of ketchup.

3) St. Louis Barbecue Sauce: This sauce variety is thinner but with a tangier twist and there are a number of ways to make this sauce. Alabama White Barbecue Sauce is a variety of barbecue sauce

4) Piedmont Barbecue Sauce: This recipe is based on the classic Carolina-style barbecue sauce and it is thin in consistency with vinegar as its base. This sauce is usually served upon smoked pork.

5) Alabama White Barbecue Sauce: This traditional recipe makes use of mayonnaise instead of tomato or vinegar. It is usually served over chicken and turkey. However, there is a catch. This sauce breaks down and separates if heated for too long, so be careful about that.

Making barbecue sauce is not a hard job. You only need to combine ingredients and then simmer the mixture to let the flavors blend. However, choosing ingredients that combine well with each other is a task, which you can master by spending some time in the kitchen, stirring that pot of barbecue sauce.
