How To Make And Take A Salad To Work Daily
There can be nothing healthier than carrying a salad pack as your lunch at work place; but then you must have some idea on how to make and take a salad to work daily. Taking salad once in a
while to your office place may not be that big deal. But when you are thinking to pack it for a daily basis, then you should plan at the beginning of the week. Here are few tips for making salad and taking it to office.
-
To make this endeavor successful the first thing you will need to buy a big bunch of airtight zip lock plastic bags. These will help you to prepare the items over the weekend and store them properly.
-
Next you should sit with a pen and paper to fix your salad menu for the week. While doing this, don’t stick to the normal kind of salad prepared with lettuce, cucumber, tomato and onions. You will get bored to eat the same thing every day, so there should be some variation. The choices for your salad can be infinite. For 5 days of the week, you can select among greens, vegetables, fruits or combination with meat or fish to keep your appetite satisfied.
-
Carry the menu with you, while you go for your weekend grocery shopping. Buy ingredients according to your list. Don’t buy anything extra ingredient for the salad, which you are not going to consume in the following week. Salads always taste their best, when consumed fresh. This way, you should stock up plenty of salad items like salad greens, vegetables, fruits etc for the whole week.
-
After coming home, you should spend some time on preparing the salad ingredients. You won’t be having sufficient time to cut or wash or steam the salad ingredients as per the recipe, during the weekdays. So, prepare them in advance. Wash all the items and dry them properly with paper towel. Now cut the greens and if you need to steam some of the vegetables then do that. Use separate zip lock bags to store them inside the frozen zone of your refrigerator.
-
Finally there is only a simple work is left for the weekdays. While packing up your daily meal, bring out only the packets, which are required for the recipe. Use a spoon to take the ingredients in right amount and directly put into your lunch box. Close the lid tightly. If you have some remaining parts of the ingredients, promptly move the packets back to the freezer. Carry the salad dressing separately in small plastic airtight pouches.
