How to Prevent A Dressing From Falling Apart

12-May-2010 by culinary traveller

We are about to tell you of how to make a dressing stick together. A well prepared dressing is one that tastes moist, lumps together and can be easily scooped out of a dish. A binding agent is a must in order to prevent the dressing from falling apart. Well-made dressings use bread crumbs.

1.    While making the dressing mix for your recipe, make sure that you add enough gravy which allows the dressing to keep its shape on being pressed into a ball.

2.    Beat one egg for every four cups of bread being used in the recipe.  Stir this with the ingredients.

3.    Use cooking spray to spray a baking dish and set the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit

4.    Spread out the dressing mix in an even layer in the sprayed dish.

5.    Pour the leftover gravy on the top of the dressing. This will help in maintaining moisture during baking.

6.    Cover the baking dish and bake for about 30 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
