How to grill the perfect steak
You have eaten steaks often in the restaurants, but, have you ever wondered how to grill the perfect steak? If you are fond of steaks, then it would be a great idea to learn how to grill the perfect steak at home. Learning how to grill the perfect steak at home, will bring you two key benefits – 1) you can save the money that you use for ordering steaks in restaurants and 2) you can customize your steak to your own taste and preference.
Choosing the right steak meat
The prerequisite of grilling the perfect steak is a perfectly cut meat. Always look for good marbling in your meats. The marbles are nothing but the fat streaks that run through the meat. The fat melts when you heat the steak and this helps the meat to baste itself and cook from within.
Things you need for the recipe
For grilling the perfect steak, you will need steaks, gas/charcoal grill, 2-3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, plastic wrap and Montreal steak rub.
Start by drying you steaks, patting them with a paper towel. Make sure, your meats are well thawed and have reached the room temperature. Now, pour the olive oil over the steaks and sprinkle a generous amount of the steak rub. Next, coat the meats evenly with the oil and the rub and seal them with a plastic wrap, allowing them to marinate for at least half an hour.
Preparing the grill
Set your grill to a high temperature keeping it around 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Now, spray your grill with a vegetable cooking spray or simply brush on it with an oil dipped paper towel. This will prevent your steaks from sticking to the grills.
Grilling the perfect steaks
Place the steaks on the hottest part of your grill, moving them to the outside edge occasionally, when your grill flares up. Now, cook each side of the steaks twice, for 4 minutes every time. You get perfectly grilled steaks in 16 minutes!
