How To Freeze Bananas For Puddings, Smoothies And Cakes
What do you do when all of a sudden you realize you have bunches of bananas at home? It is very crucial to know how to freeze bananas in such a situation. Sometimes bananas are bought in abundance when they are available ripe and fresh (simply because you couldn’t resist buying) as these are perfect for smoothies, puddings and cakes. Freezing bananas becomes crucial in such a situation. Here are some ways which will help you to freeze bananas.
Smoothies: Start the process of freezing bananas by peeling them and dipping them in lemon juice. Lemon juice prevents the bananas from getting brown. You can put these bananas in zipper bags and put them inside the freezer. These will be perfect for your smoothies.
Pudding: If you are planning to freeze bananas for pudding you should mash them thoroughly at first. You can pour this in the freeze pop molds. Cover these molds with a plastic wrap and freeze them.
Another way to freeze green bananas is by peeling them first and inserting a lollipop stick into its cut end. You can now add some lemon juice to it. Ensure that the lemon juice covers the whole banana by slowly rocking the banana for some time. If you find that there is some excess juice dump it. Now, you can place these bananas in the freezer. I love to dip these bananas in chocolate and put them back into the freezer in a cookie sheet. This is another very innovative and popular way to freeze bananas.
