How To Enjoy Winter Comfort Food – Warm Your Body And Soul
As winter sets all we desire is curl up comfortably and keep munching goodies which are filling and hearty. You need food which are rich in carbohydrates, food which is hot and very spicy so that you do not feel the chilly winter days. If you are looking forward to know how to enjoy winter comfort food in a new style here is some information which is going to really interest you.
Soups and stews: These are one of the most popular winter comfort foods because you can have them hot and spicy and enjoy them the most. The hotter the soups are, the better they will be for your winter:
• Chicken and rice soup – You can have it as a clear soup or a thick soup. Have it hot and very spicy. Enjoy it with ginger bread and spicy hot grilled meat….you wouldn’t ask for anything more.
• Vegetable and bean stew – This soup is packed with healthy fresh vegetables and beans which help you to keep strong in such a chilling weather. This stew tastes wonderful when eaten with crusty bread and some crunchy biscuits. You can have a loaf of homemade bread and corn bread with this stew and enjoy it for your dinner.
• Chicken and vegetable soup – This is a lovely combination of seasonal vegetables and tender chicken to keep you warm. Include hot peppers in the soup as seasonings before serving it hot.
• Beef soup – If you start feeling sluggish and tired have a bowl of hot beef soup. You can have it with a cheesy and starchy pasta – it will refreshen you!
There are some more foods which you can enjoy as your winter food and feel better and rejuvenated.![]()
• Macaroni and cheesy delights in the form of pasta and spaghetti are just perfect for your wine parties during winter.
• Chili with Guajillo and Ancho Chiles and Hominy – Chilies help us to stay warm during the winter. Include chilies in your food as much as you can. There are 3 kinds of chilies which can flavor food such as New Mexico chili, smoky anchos and fruity guajillos. You just need to include these chilies in your meals in the form of a puree and have it in stews, soups and also with any gravy food.
• Garlic bread pudding is quite loved by youngsters – it is one of those dishes which are enjoyed when it is snowing. This is quite similar to a tart and has a crunchy crust. You can include baby spinach in its filling which turns out to be very silky when cooked. Enjoy your garlic bread pudding with hot herbal tea!
• Eggplant parmesan with crispy bread crumb topping is one of my favorite comfort foods. It includes some delicate pieces of fried eggplants with a very tangy tomato sauce. It is excellently layered with fresh mozzarella making it sumptuously crisp with the popular dry bread crumbs.
