Eating healthy at officeAll of us remain so busy at work that we even if we try to eat healthy at office, we end up eating junk food. So it is very essential to make it a practice to eat healthy at office. While you need not strictly avoid the cafeteria food, eating healthy at office is the key for a healthier and fit life. Our lifestyles have changes so much that it has become very much mandatory to kick off healthy eating at workplace.

Read on to get some tips on how to eat healthy at office.

Rule No. 1: Never skip your breakfast.

Breakfast is the first food of the day. So, remember that you should never skip it. If you do not have time to grab a bite from home, pack you breakfast and take it office. This has two benefits – you will step into the process of eating healthy and you will remain energetic and fresh throughout the day. An apple or a banana as a breakfast option is an ideal step to help you initiate this good habit.

Rule No. 2: Always bring your meals from home.

It is preferable to cook meals from home. Put in some extra effort to prepare meals for your office. If you cannot do it in the morning, you can cook the previous night and keep it in the fridge. Heat the food and pack.

Rule No. 3: Eat smaller portions in regular intervals.

You should avoid binging on large portions of food. Instead, you can eat smaller meals every two hours. Remember the idea is to eat healthy. So, try to eat veggie salads [of course no dressings], fruits, peanuts or some snacks instead of those sugar rich and high calorie snacks.

Rule No. 4: Always keep you healthy snacks stored in office desk.

If you feel hungry and you do not have a healthy snack with you, you will rush to the vending machine for a cup of coffee or buy some carbonated drinks or diet sodas. To avoid this, make sure that you always have healthy snacks like fruits or nuts or dry fruits handy.

Rule No. 5: Avoid coffee and tea.

I do agree that coffee eases your work pressure and is a good stress buster, but 4 cups of coffee a day is not at all good. So, instead of opting for coffee, choose to have a cup of green tea with lemon and honey. You may also try stress buster teas, without milk and sugar. Add honey as the sweetener. Though it is a tough task to follow, you will be able to get over the coffee addiction in three to four days.

Rule No. 6: Drink water.

The thumb rule is to drink at least 8 glasses of water daily. It is always better to drink more water. So, try to drink as much water as possible. While drinking water can help to keep the hunger pangs away, it also helps you to stay fit and fine.

To eat healthy at office, you need to make little use of your brain. Careful planning and strategizing is very essential to kick off the habit. So start to eat healthy at office from now and keep those awful medical conditions away from you.
