How to Cut Pork Chops into Butterfly Shape

Pork is fast becoming the dinner of choice among many. But a thick cut of pork chops can be difficult to cook. The best way to counter this is to chop the pork chops into a butterfly shape. This process is also called butterflying.

What You Need

A cutting board

A sharp knife

Step 1: Take individual chops and place them on the cutting board.

Step 2: Take the knife and cut the pork chops along the bone. Once you are done, you will be left with a fillet of pork chops.

Step 3: Hold the chops firmly with your non-cutting hand and press down on the cutting board.

Step 4: Take your knife, and cut horizontally halfway between the board and your hand. Be careful not cut all the way through. Ideally, leave about ΒΌ inch from the end of the uncut side.

Step 5: Open out the cut chops, spread the sides and lay flat on the board, thus making a butterfly shape.

Butterflying pork chops ensures they cook through on all sides. You can also add stuffing between the folds and grill the pork chops.
