The Halloween days are coming and if you can prepare this in advance, then it could be used as a Halloween day costume for your child, as well. In fact, this will come to be much inexpensive than buying a readymade Halloween costume. In addition to that, you can save this costume as an evidence of your crafting ability! Jokes apart, creating a grape bunch costume does not require you to be a fashion designer. Rather it would be a fun project for both of you and your child to enjoy the lazy autumn afternoons.

Procedure 1
The easiest procedure for preparing the grapes costume is by using the balloons. In this method, you will require a green or purple color sweat suit and a bunch of purple balloons. Ask your child to blow up the balloons by keeping little space free at the end. Blowing up in full will cause the balloons to pop easily. Also you will require some space to tie the mouth of the balloons tightly, so that the air does not get leaked. Once you have sufficient number of balloons to cover the upper part of your child, then you are almost ready. Put your child into the purple sweat suit and then carefully add each balloon to the upper part of the dress with the help of safety pins. Additionally you can cut out 1-2 leaves from paper board and make them paint in green for attaching them with the dress in similar method. You should carry few extra purple balloons along with you as you might need to replace the popped ones during the show.

Procedure 2
The second procedure is little difficult and more time consuming than the first one, but this costume can be stored forever as there is no chance of popping up the grapes. You can also use your innovative power to use grapes in a variety of shades to make it look more realistic. For this, you will require buying cloth pieces in a variety of purple shades. Now make a gross estimation on the number of grapes you are going to put on the dress. Depending on that number cut round pieces of cloth in various purple shades. The size of the grapes should also be proportionate with the size of your child. Don’t make them too big, as you will have only a few to cover your little one. Similarly, making them too small will be too straining for you. Hence the medium size will be fit for both the situations. Coming back to the procedure, take one of the round pieces and fill it with waste cloth pieces of your household to make a ball like shape in grape-like colors. Finally tie the end with strong thread or cello tape. Instead of waste cloth pieces, you can also use crumbled news papers. This way you continue to prepare all the grapes in various colors. Now make your child wear the purple or green sweat suit and stick each purple ball to the dress in an arranged manner. Be careful while stitching the grapes, as the needle might hurt your baby. If your child is too active, then you should better stitch the grapes first and then make him/her wear. Although stitching after putting the dress will give you a better idea on how the costume is taking the shape. If you want to add leaves to the dress, you may buy readymade plastic or cloth leaves to the dress wither by stitching or by gluing. Much of the finishing of this costume is depending on the fabric you use. The glossy or silk fabric will make the costume more gorgeous than normal cotton fabric. However, this costume will become little heavier than the earlier one. So, if your child is too young, you better stick to the first procedure to prepare the grape costume.
